Podiatry Services.
Foot emergency? We are available same day, evenings, and weekends for urgent podiatry care. Do not wait in pain or let an infection spread — get expert help fast.
Whether it is a severe infection, diabetic foot emergency, nail trauma, or acute pain that cannot wait, our experienced Arnold podiatrist is here to help when you need us most.

When to Seek Emergency Care:
Call us immediately if you have: spreading redness or red lines from a wound, fever with foot pain, diabetic foot changes, severe swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, or pain so severe you cannot sleep or walk. If you cannot reach us and symptoms are severe, go to A&E.
What We Treat Urgently
These are the most common conditions we see as emergencies. If your situation is not listed but feels urgent, contact us anyway — we will advise you.
Severe Infections
Red, hot, swollen foot or toe with pus, spreading redness, or fever. Infections can escalate quickly and need urgent professional treatment.
Foot Trauma & Injuries
Dropped something heavy on your foot? Stubbed your toe badly? Nail torn off or bleeding? We can assess, clean, dress, and advise immediately.
Diabetic Foot Emergencies
Diabetic patients with new wounds, colour changes, loss of sensation, or sudden swelling need urgent assessment to prevent serious complications.
Acute Severe Pain
Sudden onset of severe foot or toe pain that prevents walking, sleeping, or working. We provide rapid diagnosis and pain relief.
Infected Ingrown Toenails
Ingrown toenails that have become severely infected, throbbing, or oozing require immediate attention to remove the nail spike and treat infection.
Nail Injuries & Avulsions
Toenail completely or partially torn off, severe bruising under the nail, or nail bed injuries. We can clean, dress, and prevent infection.

FAQs
Emergency Podiatry FAQs
A podiatry emergency includes severe infections (especially in diabetic patients), significant trauma to the foot or toes, ingrown toenails with spreading infection, sudden severe pain that prevents walking, and any foot condition that is rapidly getting worse. If you are unsure, contact us and we will advise whether you need urgent care.
Yes. We offer same-day emergency appointments for urgent foot conditions. Call our main number first, and if there is no answer, WhatsApp us on +44 7869 702125. We will get back to you as quickly as possible to arrange an appointment.
Yes, we offer out-of-hours appointments including evenings and weekends for genuine emergencies. Availability depends on the podiatrist schedule, but we do our best to see urgent cases as quickly as possible.
Emergency and out-of-hours appointments are priced differently from standard appointments due to the urgency and extended availability required. We will confirm the cost when you contact us. We believe transparent pricing is important — there are no hidden fees.
For most foot emergencies — infections, ingrown toenails, nail injuries, and acute pain — a podiatrist can provide faster and more specialised care than A&E. However, if you have a broken bone, cannot feel your foot, have uncontrolled bleeding, or are systemically unwell with fever, you should go to A&E or call 999.
Yes. Diabetic foot emergencies are particularly serious and we prioritise these cases. New wounds, infections, colour changes, or loss of sensation in diabetic patients need urgent assessment to prevent complications like ulceration or, in severe cases, amputation.
Keep the affected foot elevated and avoid putting weight on it if painful. Do not try to cut or dig out an ingrown toenail yourself. For wounds, apply gentle pressure with a clean cloth to stop bleeding and cover with a clean dressing. Do not squeeze infected areas. Take paracetamol or ibuprofen for pain if you are able to.
Podiatrists cannot prescribe antibiotics. However, we can treat the underlying cause of the infection (such as removing an ingrown toenail spike), clean and dress the wound, and advise whether you need to see your GP for antibiotics. Often, removing the cause resolves the infection without antibiotics.
We are based in Arnold, Nottingham and cover all of Nottinghamshire for emergency appointments. This includes Nottingham city centre, Sherwood, Mapperley, Hucknall, Bestwood, Gedling, Carlton, Mansfield, and surrounding areas.
Bring any medications you are currently taking, especially if you are diabetic. If you have been prescribed antibiotics, bring those too. Wear loose footwear or sandals if possible, as your foot may be dressed after treatment. If you have photos showing how the condition has progressed, these can be helpful.
