Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our services. By booking or attending an appointment you agree to be bound by them.

Last updated: April 2025|General Foot Care Ltd — Company No. 15519078

1. Introduction

By booking or attending an appointment for podiatry or foot care services at General Foot Care, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services.

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of services by General Foot Care Ltd (company number 15519078), trading as General Foot Care (“we”, “our”, or “us”), to the client (“you”, “your”, or “patient”).

2. Scope of Services

General Foot Care services include, but are not limited to:

  • Routine nail trimming, filing, and cutting
  • Removal of corns, calluses, and hard skin
  • Nail surgery (partial and total nail avulsion)
  • Biomechanical assessment and gait analysis
  • Custom orthotic prescription and fitting
  • Verruca treatment (Swift microwave therapy, cryotherapy, Verrutop, needling)
  • Diabetic foot assessments and Doppler vascular testing
  • Steroid injection therapy
  • Advice on foot hygiene, footwear, and general podiatric care
  • Non-surgical management of common foot and lower limb conditions

These services do not include surgical interventions, medical diagnostics, or treatments requiring specialist hospital referrals unless explicitly discussed and arranged with your treating podiatrist.

3. Eligibility

Our services are available to patients of all ages. However, individuals with the following conditions may require prior medical clearance before certain treatments can proceed:

  • Diabetes mellitus (Type 1 or Type 2)
  • Severe peripheral arterial or circulatory disease
  • Active open wounds, infections, or ulcers
  • Blood-thinning medication (anticoagulants)
  • Known allergies to local anaesthetic agents

You must disclose your full and accurate medical history, current medications, and any known allergies during your initial consultation. Failure to disclose relevant medical information may affect the safety and outcome of your treatment.

4. Appointments and Cancellations

4.1 Booking Appointments

Appointments can be booked via phone, email, online booking form, or in person at the clinic. All bookings are subject to availability.

4.2 Arrival

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Late arrivals may result in a reduced appointment time or rescheduling where clinically necessary.

4.3 Cancellations and Rescheduling

We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations (fewer than 24 hours’ notice) or missed appointments (DNA — did not attend) may incur a cancellation fee. We reserve the right to require a deposit for future bookings following repeated non-attendance.

4.4 Clinic Cancellations

In the unlikely event we need to cancel your appointment, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer the earliest available alternative slot.

5. Payment

Payment is required at the time of service unless otherwise arranged in advance in writing.

We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and other payment methods as displayed at the clinic. Pricing is subject to change; all costs will be clearly disclosed before treatment begins. We do not currently process insurance claims directly — patients seeking reimbursement from health insurers must settle payment with us first and claim independently.

6. Client Responsibilities

As a patient, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date medical information at every consultation
  • Follow aftercare advice and instructions provided by your podiatrist to ensure optimal treatment outcomes
  • Notify us promptly of any adverse reactions, complications, or concerns following treatment
  • Treat all clinic staff with courtesy and respect
  • Attend appointments on time and give adequate notice of any changes

7. Limitation of Liability

While General Foot Care takes all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and efficacy of its services, we cannot be held responsible for complications arising from:

  • Pre-existing medical conditions not disclosed at the time of assessment
  • Failure to follow aftercare advice provided by your podiatrist
  • Adverse reactions to treatments where relevant history was not disclosed

Our services are provided for therapeutic and maintenance purposes and are not a substitute for a formal medical diagnosis or treatment by a medical doctor. Where clinical need dictates, we will refer you to an appropriate healthcare professional.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

8. Patient Consent for Use of Clinical Images

We may request your consent to use anonymised clinical images (for example, photographs of treatment outcomes) for educational or promotional purposes online, including our website, social media, and other platforms.

  • Images will only feature the foot or treatment area — no identifiable features will be visible
  • Patient names or personal information will never be disclosed alongside images
  • Written or verbal consent will always be obtained before any image is used
  • Consent is entirely voluntary and will not affect the quality or continuity of your care
  • Consent can be withdrawn at any time by contacting us at 07512 763828 or podiatry@generalfootcare.co.uk. Images will be removed from our platforms as promptly as possible upon request.

9. Complaints and Feedback

We are committed to providing the highest quality of podiatric care. If you have a concern or complaint, please contact us directly in the first instance so we can address it promptly:

If your complaint cannot be resolved directly, you may escalate it to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the regulator for registered podiatrists in the UK.

10. Amendments to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Material changes will be communicated via our website or in writing at your next appointment. Continued use of our services following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
